Addressing Housing Affordability in the Nelson-Creston Area.
The Province consists of 944,735 km² of land and the provincial government owns 94% of it… The provence sells the timber rights to companies that clear cut everything, export raw logs and burn countless tons of usable wood. It’s an environmental and economic catastrophe to say the least.
Why can’t some of this land be dedicated to affordable housing projects? Projects that will enrich our communities far into the future. We could create space for tiny home park or erect prefabricated eco villages within a few months? We could also use land to create beautiful camp sites for both locals and tourists from around the world.
There are many alternative building materials and methods that will only grow in popularity as climate change increases the global value of having intact forests. Check out some new ideas in these videos.
